Hi, my name is Tommaso Lavagnoli and I am a graphic designer from Verona. I studied Graphic Design for three years in Verona and I continued with the MA in Communication and Design for Publishing at ISIA in Urbino. I’m currently working as a freelancer and I’m always looking for new collaborations. I’m carrying on a project about the life and ideas of Moroccan youth in Morocco, from which I came back after a period of field researching. I worked mainly on identities for festivals, events linked to music and contemporary art and I designed catalogs, books for research projects, but i also do photography, typography related animation, video editing. A street sign, built to be and stay perfect, is inevitably exposed to the forces of nature and the human ones, that may be intentional or accidental, that modify its shape and therefore its function. In the same way, the human being, born untouched, experience different types of violence, during growth, that change his soul, his behaviour or even his form.

Vessel is a magazine born with the aim of talking to the future, addressing the disciplines that revolve around visual communication and from which they develop a dialogue with society, community and space, both university and non-university. Vessel is the uranium core container in the nuclear power plant. It protects and guards the core that is necessary for the production of energy that allows movement and evolution. Vessel Magazine as a container, has the same role in the world of design, writing about the energies of the present, through a continuous dialogue on what surrounds it.
Emilia Emilia is a research project made 31 years from the most famous exploration and 2200 from the foundation of the street itself. This is an attempt to update both visual and human scenarios. It has been done in two journeys. The research aims at direct observation of landscapes and people, to be objective as much as possible, and to be then returned through a personal production that overlaps and translates the strongest characters identified during exploration. During the trips, Rimini-Bologna and Bologna-Piacenza, photographic, video and audio samples were taken in two ways: - every 15 km a photo for each side of the shore and a video -spontaneous stops for interviews with those who live the Emilia street or to photograph places that attracted our attention. After analyzing the history of places and people we experienced in this process, the most important and recurring feature has proven to be adaptability. For example, many entertainment giants died because of their lack of this ability and some small entrepreneurs manage to transform their businesses to keep themselves competitive. So on the last trip, the third, we interviewed people and let them manipulate a piece of clay, recording the moment with a video camera. We wanted to have a spontaneous shape that would speak for itself as a representation of the stories and emotions of these people through their modelling during the story.

2017 BOOK + INSTALLATION
CTRL is the result of reasoning and research on the structure of the tower as an ancient tool of control that has had two outputs: - an installation made by wood and blackout films that allow observing without being observed. It's proposed as an interpretation of both the vertical control of the tower but also of the modern tracking through smartphones and social networks - a book that analyzes several examples of control in the contemporary.
Project by: Carlo Bustreo, Tommaso Lavagnoli, Vincenzo Marcone, supervisioned by Johnatan Pierini. The ‘CTRL’ installation was part of the ‘Tel Mez, purchè se ne parli’ exhibition, held from 21/06/2016, to 08/01/2017, at Bramante Hall, Martiri della Libertà Street 25, Fermignano (PU).
